Studying about the German culture opened my mind to the acceptance of other cultures. Although some of the traditions and cultural rules seemed weird at first, I quickly learned that it was common place in the German culture. Through this process, I think, I acquired more respect for the German culture itself. I also learned about how different my culture actually is compared to the German culture and how weird it might be to them. Also I have learned to respect foreigners in my own country more. I am more accepting of their traditions and their rituals. Not only have I experienced the hardships of coming to another country myself, but this class opened my eyes to a more conflicts between cultures than I could ever imagine.
